Americans of Asian descent have immigrated to this country in numbers since the 1850s. We helped build America, through our labor in the fields, laying iron to build the railroads, through our industry and our ideas. Yet, Asian Americans are forever other-ed and alien to many other Americans. We have encountered strong opposition, racist laws, and violence. It’s time for change.
